Windows - Disabling Startup Programs


Many software today want to run some of their components at all times, whether the programs are being used or not. These components will be inserted into Windows Startup System so that they can be run every time you turn on your computer without your permission. All these programs take up memory, CPU time, and other resources and can significantly slow up or even crash your system. These programs are one of computing’s big annoyances. In order to speed up computer, you must disallow unnecessary programs from running at startup.

Today I will show you step by step procedure on how to disable programs you don't want to run automatically after windows logon.


STEPS

1. Go to (Start>Run) type msconfig and click OK.

2. You can see new windows like in the figure below.

3. Click on the Startup Tab, You can see all list of programs that run on startup.

4. Select and Uncheck the programs you want to disable on startup and Click Apply. Then it will ask you if you want to reboot the machine now to take the effect or You can do it later. It will only take effect after rebooting the machine.

5. That's it! You are now disabled the programs you don't want to run on startup.
