Goophone Will Sue Apple if Iphone 5 Release in China

Do you still remember the Goophone i5? The maker of it (Goophone) uploaded a Youtube video, which warns Apple better not to release the sixth-generation iPhone in China, as Goophone claimed it had patented the i5’s design in China, otherwise Goophone will sue Apple no matter how the next iPhone going to look like. Um…what if the next iPhone doesn’t look like the i5? In the meanwhile, Goophone released all the details about the i5, and it’s quite impressive. Check it out after the break.

The clone manufacturer who released an iPhone 5 knock-off last week now says that they will sue Apple if they release the real iPhone 5 in China. Surreal? Hilarious? Pathetic? All of the above.
Hong Kong-based GooPhone, who designed their cheapo Android phone after the alleged Apple iPhone 5 parts leaked during the last few months, has a very rational argument: they have released their clone first, so everything that comes after that must be a copy, even if they actually made their phone after the parts of a phone that hasn't been released yet but that everyone believes is the real thing.

In other words: since their clone was released first, that makes it the original phone. The iPhone 5 is the actual clone, not theirs.
Makes sense? Of course it doesn't. Who cares! It's fun!

Just what kind of heavy hitting machinery do they have to back up this threat? Well, the company behind the Goophone I5 is said to own the patent of the Goophone I5 in China itself, hence should Apple intend to make any headway in that part of the world, they will have to – I don’t know, purchase some sort of licensing fee unless Apple wants to get sued if the threat goes through? It is all touch and go at the moment, and I think the onus is on the company to make sure they follow through with such a threat when the iPhone 5 inevitably arrives at the world’s factory.
